Welcome to the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program

The UI Program provides temporary benefits to qualified persons out of work through no fault of their own. The purpose of the program is to help maintain the economic stability within a community. The UI fund is financed entirely by a special tax paid by employers.

Federal-State Extended Benefits (EB) Program has Ended

  • The Federal-State Extended Benefit (EB) program has ended in Minnesota - the last payable week is January 8 - 14, 2012.
  • Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) will begin to phase out the end of February, 2012.
