Complete Your Change of Legal Entity Type

If you have already registered a new employer account due to a change of legal entity (ex: sole proprietor to corporation or limited liability company) but did not have all of the required information to complete the Change of Legal Entity page during the registration process, log in to your new employer account (successor account) and complete the steps below.

To complete the change in the legal entity of your business:

1. Log in to your account at www.uimn.org
2. On My Home Page, click Legal Business Changes.
3. Click Complete your Change of Legal Entity. The Report a Change of Legal Entity page opens.
4. Fill in the requested previous entity (predecessor account) information.
5. Click Next.
6. Under Common Ownership, select the appropriate option button.
7. Click Next. Depending upon your circumstances, either the Determination of Transfer of Experience: Due to Change in Legal Entity or Determination of Non-Succession page displays.
