COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) is a federal law that requires certain employers to make group health care coverage available to qualified former employees.
Beginning July 1, 2009, the Minnesota COBRA subsidy will pay 35 percent of the COBRA premium for people who:
- sign up for COBRA health care coverage;
- are eligible for the federal COBRA subsidy;
- meet the income and asset limits for a Minnesota health care program.
