REQUESTING BENEFIT PAYMENTS In order to receive a benefit payment, you must request benefits every week or every two weeks. About seven days after you first apply for benefits, you will receive a Password Notification letter with the Password you created and instructions for requesting benefits. The instructions will tell you how to request benefit payments using the Applicant Self-Service System. You must request benefit payments as scheduled to verify that you are still unemployed, and that you meet the ongoing requirements each week (able to work, available for work, looking for work, reporting other income, etc.) You can request benefit payments every week (or two weeks), by:
Request Benefit Payment is available online Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Choose to hear English, Spanish, Hmong, or Somali, then enter your Social Security number and Password. Listen to your options and choose Request Benefit Payment. SCHEDULE FOR REQUESTING BENEFIT PAYMENTS
You must continue to request benefit payments as scheduled for any weeks for which you want benefits, even if your eligibility is being decided or you have an appeal pending on a denial of benefits. Late requests may cause you to be ineligible for that period. |
