Federal Government Partial Shutdown
Information for Federal Employees Affected by the Federal Government Shutdown
The Minnesota Unemployment Insurance Program is open and service is not affected by the partial federal government shutdown.
Federal employees who are unemployed due to the shutdown should apply for unemployment insurance benefits. The application process for federal employees is the same as it is for any other unemployed worker. However, providing information about your federal employment is a little different than it is for other kinds of employment, so we've created some additional instructions just for federal employees who are unemployed due to the partial shutdown.
If you have not applied for unemployment benefits before, see Instructions for Federal Employees on How to Apply for Unemployment Benefits.
If you have applied for unemployment benefits within the last year, log into your account.
